Backup Systems Completes Annual External Penetration Testing.

As part of maintaining that Backup Systems are protected against the latest cyber security threats, we internally conduct monthly vulnerability scans on ourselves to ensure that everything is up to speed and secure. We use an automated GUI tool that we source from Defense.com. Defense is Bulletproof’s cybersecurity SaaS, their main goal is to make it easy for companies like us to manage our cyber security, without the hassle.

Not only do we use Defense to do our internal vulnerability scans, but they annually conduct a full external pen test on us. These tests are a deeper look into our security to make sure everything is running smoothly. We are pleased to announce that we have successfully ensured everything is safe and secure, with the approval of Defense thanks to their top tier testing. This means we are doing everything correctly to defend against cyber security threats.

External pen testing gives our clients peace of mind that their backups are in safe hands, but did you know, a large majority of cyber insurance companies require you to have sourced one of these tests yourself? If you don’t, you won’t be able to get insured.

Another way we ensure our clients have peace of mind is through the government-backed certification scheme called Cyber Essentials. We’ve acquired this certification annually for many years, similar to Defense it’s another way to test ourselves against the most common cyber attacks. We want to make sure we have every measure in place possible when it comes to defending against cyber attacks, hence why we go through multiple tests from different sources to ensure security.

While no system is completely 100% safe from hackers or even real-world disasters, the best thing you can do is to ensure at least you have a safe and secure third-party backup.
