Challenges

Time Wastage

Seabourne Logistics had a physical server that was running their warehouse management system. They began to see issues that were eventually narrowed down to being a fault with the hardware, as a result they wanted to virtualise the system before the hardware failed completely.

Solution

Enterprise Backup Solution

Backup Systems conducted a P2V operation (Physical to Virtual). To do this, Backup Systems took a special VHD image backup of the physical server and transferred this backup over to a Hyper-V server. A new Virtual Machine was then created with the VHD backup disks attached, and a critical step for this case was also keeping the same MAC address, which Hyper-V allows Backup Systems to configure.
